Scholar Dissertations At the Bankeside Schoole of Defense, there are tests conducted to determine if students are ready to continue their training with the rapier companion and the other weapons taught in our discipline. Testing for the higher ranks become increasingly difficult as students rise higher in rank and responsibilty becomes paramount in training and their role within our school. When a Bankeside Scholar has devoted the time to the school and wishes to attain the next higher rank, the student must satisfy the requirements to include the writing of an essay on their choice of period master, technique or weapon used in the Bankeside Schoole. Further dissertations are required for supplementary ranks in our institution. The following are papers written by our Bankeside Scholars, Free Scholars and Provosts for public examination : Basic Principles and Methods of Historical Stage Combat - by Steven Leon (2001) - 42kb How to defend with a sword against a polearm - the true lesson of Salvatore Fabris' Plate 190. - by Charles Dane (2008) - 155kb George Silver Vs The Italian Invasion - by Douglas Bingham (2009) - 40kb MS I.33 - European Martial Arts: A Sophisticated Tradition - by Michael Magallenes (2010) - 3.7Mb Quarterstaffs are awesome! - by Cory Brady (2010) - 29kb
