Renaissance Swordsmanship - John Clements : An illustrated manual of techniques with historical European swordplay.   A must for any serious student.  About $20

Actors on Guard - Dale Anthoney Girard : A great book for beginners.  Though the book is intended for stage combat, many of the techniques contained are historically based.  About $40.

English Martial Arts - Terry Brown : An excellent book that characterizes English weaponry including Broadsword, Quarterstaff, English Bill and bare fisted fighting.  A good resources for those interested in English fighting.  About $45

The Blow by Blow Guide to Swordfighting in the Renaissance Style (VHS) - Mike Loades : Presented in video format, this is a good video for those interested in rapier fighting.  Not only does it show you period techniques, it also chronicles the advent of the civilian duel.  Unfortunately, it is not available through Amazon.com.  To purchase a copy of this video, you will need to visit Museum Replicas and request a copy from their catalog under the "Books" section.  About $50

Voyage of Reprisal - Kevin Glynn : A wonderful historical fiction written by a gentleman who really knows his period history.  The story is about an English privateering venture to the New World in search of the Spanish Treasure Fleet.  A very engaging story and full of information regarding period sailing.  Visit his website at www.voyageofreprisal.com.  About $19.50   Buy this book today!   Highly Recommended!

The Book of the Courtier - Baldesar Castiglione : A treatise showing Italian court life during the Renaissance and discusses what constitutes the "Perfect Courtier".   Even though not of English origin, this Italian book was favored and read by many courtiers in England.  About $13   Buy this book today!

Daily Life in Elizabethan England - Jeffrey Singman & Will McClean :   A must book for any English reenactor!   This book goes into depth on every aspect of daily life in 16th century England including foods, housing, government, etc.   A bit pricey, but well worth it!   Buy this book today!   Highly Recommended!

The Elizabethan World Picture - E.M. Tillyard : An informative book on how Elizabethan thinking shaped it's literature and it's world view.   Buy this book today!
